MassPay Cuts FX Steps, Offers Direct Local Currency Payouts to 180 Nations
MassPay launches single-hop foreign exchange payouts to 180 countries, eliminating costly intermediary currency conversions for businesses.
MassPay, a global financial orchestration platform and Visa Direct partner, announced Tuesday an expanded payout service allowing businesses to send funds directly in local currencies to recipients across 180 countries without routing transactions through the U.S. dollar or any other intermediary currency.
The Las Vegas-based company says the change removes what it calls the "double conversion" problem — a longstanding friction point in cross-border payments in which funds are first converted to an intermediary currency, such as USD, before being converted again into the payee's local denomination. Each conversion step has historically eroded the value of the payment before it reaches the intended recipient.

By reducing the process to a single foreign-exchange hop, MassPay says payees stand to receive a greater share of every disbursement. The model is particularly relevant for gig-economy platforms, digital marketplaces, and media companies that regularly distribute earnings to international contractors, creators, or publishers in dozens of currencies simultaneously.
The announcement positions MassPay within a broader industry push to reduce friction and cost in global money movement, a space that has seen growing competition from both fintech challengers and legacy financial institutions. As a Visa Direct partner, the company has infrastructure access that supports rapid settlement across a wide network of international endpoints.
